SFP, short form-factor pluggable, is a compact, hot-pluggable transceiver module used for telecommunications and data communication applications.

The topic about SFP vs SFP+ is still very hot. In fact, SFP+ is an enhanced version of SFP that supports data rates up to 10 Gbit/s. The SFP+ supports 8 Gbit/s Fiber Channel, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and OTU2 standard Optical Transport Network.

SFP28 stands for Small Form-Factor Pluggable 28. It is the third generation of the SFP interconnect systems designed for 25G performance per the IEEE 802.3 by specification (25GBASE-CR).

XFP appeared before SFP+. It is also a standardized form factor for 10 Gb/s fiber optic serial transceivers. It is protocol independent and fully compliant with the following standards: Ethernet 10G, Fiber Channel 10G, SONET OC-192, SDH STM-64 and OTN G.709, supporting bit rate from 9.95G to 11.3G.

QSFP is an abbreviation for small form factor pluggable quad (4 channels). It is a compact, hot-plug transceiver also used for data communication applications. QSFP+ has evolved as the standard for data rates of 10 Gb/s by SFF-8436. Nowadays, QSFP+ gradually replaces QSFP and is used by people as it can provide superior bandwidth of 40Gb/s.

The 100G QSFP28 transceiver module is a high-density, high-speed product designed for 100Gbps applications. It has the same format as the QSFP+ transceivers. The QSFP28 100G optics provide four channels of high-speed differential signals with data rates ranging from 25 Gbps to potentially 40 Gbps and ultimately meet the Ethernet requirements of 100 Gbps (4 × 25 Gbps) and 100 Gbps 4X InfiniBand Enhanced Data Rate (EDR).

The pluggable C form-factor (CFP) is a multi-source agreement to produce a common form-factor for the transmission of high-speed digital signals. We can have CFP and CFP2, CFP4 we can go from 100G to 200G.

A direct-connect cable (DAC) can be produced as a passive or active variant. As the passive DAC has no active components, it provides a direct electrical connection between mating cable ends. This method can also be completed by an active DAC, which is considered active because there are extra electronics built into the connectors. Therefore, it helps to improve signal quality by offering a longer cable distance. The DAC is a fixed set that can be purchased in various lengths for short distances of up to 15 meters.

An AOC active optical cable has a transceiver at its last ends, a transmitter and receiver combination that is connected to a fiber cable for transferring optical signals. The AOC active optical cable uses an electronic to optical converter to translate the signals inside the AOC active optical cable transceiver. For transmission, the AOC optical cable uses active LEDs or lasers. Signals from the AOC active optical cable are received via a PIN or APD detector. AOC active optical cables can be used in various hardware systems, eg switches, servers, HBAs, etc. In addition, AOC active optical cables are hot plug and therefore can be installed or removed during operation.

Optical MPO / MTP Patch Cord consists of a glass core, which offers a high refractive index, surrounded by a low refractive index coating. This is also reinforced with aramid yarns to prevent damage to the core of the MPO / MTP fiber patch cord and the jacket, which is made with a synthetic coating for protection. This allows MPO/MTP fiber patch cords to transmit point-to-point optical signals with low signal loss, even over long distances. MPO / MTP fiber patch cords are mainly used for connecting optical transceivers, patch panels and other fiber optic connection sources to existing high speed networks. MPO / MTP fiber patch cords can interconnect routers, servers, firewalls, load balancers,

Fiber optic patch cords are fiber optic cables used to connect one device to another for signal routing. It compresses the entire mains board and the room that the wall board and the cabinet flexibility needed, making a person passing through the room just pretty traditional FC, LC, ST and SC junction box in parts. Fiber diameter: 9/125; 50/125; 62/125 Available for Simplex and Duplex, Pigtail type, End-Face type: PC / UPC / APC with External coating can be PVC, LSZH, OFNR, OFNP. Fiber type: G652D, G657A1 and G657A2 single-mode fiber, OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4 multimode fiber are available.
